The seaside town of Southport is in Merseyside, England. It lies on North West England's Irish Sea coast, and is a part of the Liverpool city region. The town was historically part of Lancanshire, until a hotel was built on its site.

Southport was a popular 19th century tourist spot. Some of the town features and attractions include the second longest British Isles' seaside pleasure pier, the Southport Pier. The elegant and tree lined Lord Street was once home to Napoleon III, and is today a shopping street. Southport Theatre is also a major attraction of the town.

Samples of Victorian architecture can be found around town, mainly in Lord Street. The Southport Theatre can be located in the promenade of the town. This theatre is the largest, most flexible venue for multiple purposes in Merseyside. It houses a traditional theatre, a domed ballroom, a state of the art conference and exhibition centre, and even a new 4 star hotel. The theatre was added to the Floral Hall back in 1973.

The Southport Theatre has been refurbished to offer the highest standard and an ideal place to be when in Southport. The venue is managed and operated by the Ambassador Theatre Group, and provides in house catering, technical support, and professional overall coordination for all types of events. The theatre has a foyer bar, with tea and coffee facilities, as well as function suites.

If you are planning a visit to the theatre, you can locate it next to the Ramada Plaza Hotel, with the Funland to the right. You can also take advantage of your trip by visiting other local attractions such as Splash World, Victoria Park and Hesket Park, and Royal Birkdale Golf Course.
